Hur fungerar Autosock på is? Är dubbdäck inte bättre då?

Autosocks fungerar i de flesta väderförhållanden betydligt bättre än dubbdäck.

AutoSock ingenjörer svarar enligt följande:

“Studded tires (dubbdäck) are using a different rubber mixture compared to other studless (dubbfria däck) winter tires - they need to hold the studs in place and depending on the number of studs on the treat, the tire has of course much less surface area compared to other winter tires.

The state-of-the-art micro perforation of top winter tires is not found in studded tires. And because of that, studded tires would not perform well compared to modern winter tires especially in the critical are of around 0°C - where AutoSock typically outperforms most if not all competing products and tires.

But at really low, constant temperatures on ice and very dry compacted snow, studs would work well (but still getting less and less popular since studdless winter tires more and more outperform studded tires.”
